YAKIMA -- If you haven't mailed in your ballot yet, you still have time. Today is the last day to mail ballots for this year's primary election.
The new top-two primary system allows you to vote for the candidates of your choice, regardless of party, with the two highest vote-getters advancing to the general election in November.
There are two marquee local races in this primary, the six-candidate race for a 14th District state House seat and the four-candidate race for the District 2 seat on the Yakima County Commission. Other offices on the ballot include governor, U.S. Congress race in the 4th District, and county and state judge positions.
Primary results should be available shortly after 8 p.m. tonight. For a full list of Yakima Herald-Republic election coverage and links to tonight's results, go to our election page.
