ChartConnect, a Yakima company that created a Web-based medical records system widely used in this region and elsewhere in the Northwest, is being acquired by a larger company.
Noteworthy Medical Systems of Cleveland, Ohio, announced Monday it is in the process of buying ChartConnect.
The new company will retain the name Noteworthy Medical Systems, which will serve 1,200 practices; 5,700 health care providers; and 12,000 users across 43 states.
A news release issued by Noteworthy did not indicate when the purchase will be completed or the value of the transaction.
ChartConnect has 16 employees. A majority are based in Yakima.
Noteworthy, founded in 1997, makes electronic health care record-keeping systems. The acquisition will provide users a complete administrative and clinical record system, according to the release.
The release quoted Greg Jewell, president and co-founder of ChartConnect, as saying the improved capabilities of the two companies is one of the most exciting and significant developments in the industry in a long time.
